Polis Reports $368,761 Raised For the Third Quarter

With no money raised by PACs, Polis is leading in individual contributions

Boulder, CO – Tuesday, October 16, 2007 – Democrat Jared Polis has shown, once again, that he clearly is the candidate to watch in Congressional District two. Polis’ official FEC filing shows he raised $350,392 from individual donors and $19,639 of in-kind donation from the candidate. This makes the Polis campaign the leading fundraiser in Colorado’s Second Congressional District with over $825,259 raised since he announced his candidacy on May 21, 2007. Polis is also leading in cash on hand with $554,585, over $100,000 more than his closest competitor.

“It is clear that the support for Jared’s progressive message and the strong belief he will always do what is right for the Second Congressional District and America is what is resonating,” stated Campaign Manager, Wanda James. “Jared is the only candidate with the backbone to think outside the box for real answers. People see that and are responding to it.”

“As a Congressman, I will not compromise on core principles,” stated Polis. “The war is something I would have never supported, even if it was popular to have done so. We’ve had enough of poll-driven politics,” he said. “Our agenda for bold, progressive leadership on education, health care, and foreign policy is clearly catching on.”

Some of the more notable Democrats who have donated to the campaign include: US Rep. John Salazar, former Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, former US Representatives Pat Schroeder, Joe Kennedy and Lynn Schenk; Rollie and Josie Heath, Linda Shoemaker and Angie Paccione.
